Not that long ago that we spliced our voice samples together (tape to tape with a razor blade...seriously). Client reels were shipped to agency producers so they could have a listen on their in house tape decks. The day finally arrived when we could leave a “dat” (digital audio tape) with the audio engineer and he or she would put your new “spot” on it for you and you’d pick it up later, duplicate it and mail it out to agencies so they could hear your work.
